Philadelphia October 18th/62
Dear Sister
I take my pen in hand to inform you that i am well at present and i hope these few lines will find you all well Ferdinand was here on a short visit and he thought he was too long away from you so he started home one night at eleven and did not tell any body if he had to wait until the next day i would go along with him
I am pretty well now and i will go to my Regiment next week or the week after I wrote a letter to Mary about two weeks ago and i got no answer yet Adelia delia
