Washington April the 11th 1862
dear sister as soon as i get paid i will get a furlough and go to see youse i think it is most time we would get paid some says we will get discharged again the 1st of May it is too much expences to keep cavalry the 7th New York Cavalry is discharged if they discharge us i will enlist again i am orderly for General Wadsworth i get 75 cents a day besides what i get from the Regiment thirteen dollars a month I wonder if John knows you received a letter from me yet he will wonder how you got my address please to send me the / New York Clipper for i am a great boy for sport when you write let me know where is John Ryan and Aunt Ellen i most forget all my relations it would take me a month to consider about them let me know what aunt Mary is that is dead and her husband i dont recolect any aunt Mary but one that is John Morrisons wife
i must close if i continue you would have a history to read
