Dear Friend
I received your kind and most welcome letter and was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you and your family are enjoying good health my family are all well at present and I sincerly hope that these lines will find you and yours enjoying the same good blessing for I think there is no greater blessing than good health

I am very glad that you sent me little Alonzos card you said that you did not think it a good one but I hardly think it could be better as it is a great trial to get so young a child to stand still I took it up to Mother Whites and they all thought it very good and they felt a little slighted to think you did not send one for them. I was very much surprised to hear that you had another daughter you said that you hoped that I would have the same news to tell you but I do not think that you will ever hear that at least I hope not for I would sooner put / an end to my own existance than have another for it is a great responsibility to have children to bring up in this wicked world especialy when you have no one to asist you Mr and Mrs White send love to you and the children and would like to see you all give my love to the children and kiss little Alonzo for me and tell him who it is for also give my kind regards to Mr Collins and his Mother you wanted to know where Theresa was I heard that she is in Erie yet and shortly to be married to a young man by the name of Miles he is by occupation a telagraph operator she does not write to any of us / it is an old and true saying out of sight out of mind and she has forsaken old friends for new ones but I sincerly hope that in making her choice of a companion for life that she has made a wise and good selection for marriage is like a lottery some draw a prize and more a blank and I must now close my letter as it is getting late and I am very tired and sleeppy

I remain your true
Friend and well
wisher
Julia Frances Parker

P.S. do not write again untill you hear from me as I am going to move the first
