My Visit to the woods
 
One day my father asked me if I would like to go up in the woods. I said "yes" and he told me to go and put on my hat and coat I asked him if any one else was going He said know "no" and then we started we went three miles up the road and then went south into the woods. We sat down under a pine tree to rest when we saw some pretty wild flower I asked my father if I would go pick them he said he would like to have me and I went and picked a nice boquet and gave it to him. He took it and then we went after some wintergreen berries. We picked are pockets full and then we went after some more flowers there were was a great many different / kinds of trees such as pine, oak, maple, hemlock, beach chesnut butternut and hickory nut We went over to a chesnut tree and got some chesnuts and then we got some hickory and then started for home we had three miles to walk when we got home we went and put them in water and then we went to bed for we was were very tired /
