Dear Father
with pleasure I seat my self to inform you that I am not very well at this time But I am better than I was last night sometime in the night I began to feel sore and have the head ache and still remains so though not so bad. we are all at work to day fixing up our Quarters to day

I think we will get through this evening we was exposed to the cool night are. I think is the cause of my haveing the head ache. But all right to night we will have a good warm place to sleep and all will come right again. all the rest of the Boys down our way is well I believe. some from Connersville has the ague and feavor. I think we all get enough to eat or at least I do. I would like to know how George W. Murphy is getting along about this time / I think he was in a bad condition when we left. He should take care of himself. tell him we have a good time in camp. things go off as usual. you can look on either side andsee something going on. we miss one good fellow you can gess who that is. The last Company of the 84th Rigt left for Louisville to day Col Bickell is in charge of our Rogt now he is promt in attending to his business I believe the report on him is not exactly true though time will prove to us as to its certainty

all of the wounded men of our Regiment has been furloughed home untill able for duty, and all so all that them that are sick and not able for duty. well I will have to close for this time as my hand is unsteady and the sound of a handsaw, half a doz pounding and as many more talking, under all of those illconvientcies I will have to quit with the hope that this will reach and find you all well. write soon Come to camp as soon as you can I would like to see you all.
