            I respectfully ask the detail of Private W. H. Rice Co F. 8th Texas Inft Forneys Division, as a saddler for work shops D. W. La.
 
            I also ask the detail of W. B. & D. F. Leatherman privates in Co F. 8th Texas, Forneys Division as blacksmiths in workshops D. W. La.
            These two last men are represented to be unfit for field service.

Private W. H . Rice is now on duty making and rigging saddles for use of Quarter Masters Dept of the Brigade and his services are indispensable in my shop from the fact that I am compelled to supply my Dept with saddles by my own exertions.
 
Therefore, I cannot get along without men who understand making saddles, collars repairing harness
