John Sprankle
John Sprankle was born around 1825 in Pennsylvania. He worked at a mill on the Juniata River until 1849, when a flood destroyed the mill and prompted him to move to Abiote, Indiana. He married Susan Byall, and they had three children: Mary, born around 1851; Josephine, born around 1854; and John, born around 1866. Sprankle worked as a farmer, and by 1860, he owned $4,800 of real estate and $500 of personal property. A decade later, he owned $2,800 of real estate and $200 of personal property. He died sometime after 1900.
