My Dear and afectinate wife i have just received your welcom leter and was very glad to hear from you and to know that you air well and the children to you cant tell how glad i should be to see you all the time seames to pass slowley away and things look discouragen but i feel in hopes that things will take a diferant turn before long some times the talk is that the thing is going to be setled up but i cant see eny thing that lookes much like it we have orders to move to morow but i do not know whair some think we air going into another batle but i / do not much think we shal i think we air coming back towards washington and i hope we shal you said that that you had not got eny of the money that i aloted to be sent home you probley will next month and your pay from the town if you do not get it or part as it is dew you have Albina go and see savage and tell him that he must pay evry sent if does not do it have him go to Ned ran and hav him send to the state trexre and you will get it tell old savage that it will save him troble youse all the money you need if you get it lay a litle by in time of / need you know what i mean do not go hungry nor cold do you have enough with what money you get pleas wright me all about it i canot help thinking about the welfair of my famley for i should very bad if i knew that they wer in nead of provisions or clothing or eney thing to make them comfortable i will asure you in regard to my helth it is as good as yousal my eyes have got well but my eyesite is rather poor i canot see to read much Elro is well and harty and ses that he wishes that he was up with aunt Mary so do i take good cair you self give my love to all and a good sheir to your self tell the boys that paper wishes them a hapy new year and you with them. you need not hury about sending them boots just yet untill you hear from me again intend to wright as often as i can. look out for you money give the litle feloes a cis for me and this one for your self I must close by biding you good by for this time and may god bless you through comin events it is hard for me to close
