Dear Mary we air know under orders to march and i expect we air going to tensee so i thought i would wright you a few lines for i cant tell when i shal have another chance we air ordered to have eight days rations in our haversacks and knapsacks and i thing i think it will make ous quite alode but i shal go it as long as i can but it pooting a considerable of a lode onto a mans back it lookes a litle know as tho we might have some work to do before long but i cant tell and i hope nothing searious why dont you wright Mary i have wrote you fore leters sence i received eny from you / and you must think i should like to hear from as posable and when i dont get one for a long time i feel fraid that you air sick or the children but when i lay down to sleap at knight i try to think that all is well and i pray that it may be so it is the last thing i think of before i go to sleap and yousley the first when i wake i saw you all the other knight plain as could be but i woke up and all was as yousal but i should like to make it real i shal not wright again untill i get an answer bechaus i think i feel that my leters air of but litle acount but i hope i may be mistaken but Mary you cant tell my feelings in regard to my / friends not wrighting when i see the rest geting mail but i do not know but what they think that they do the best they can so i will close give my love to all kiss the boys for me and tell them father sends his love to them Mary take good cair of your self and wright often as you can except my love and good will
