Mary i received your leter the 27 of March we wer then on our way to kentucy and i have had no chance to wright untill now and this morning i thought i would try and wright a few lines we went about two hundred miles on the water and fore on the cares we rode night and day we wer seven days geting through we left the cairs on the morning of the 8 at paires and marched 22 miles and if ever men wer yoused up it is now i stood it a good deal beter than i expected my health is about the saim as it has ben you need not borow much troble about me for i will warent you that i will work my way through all wright if the rebs do not / get me and i guess they wont it is one of the fines countrys places hear i ever saw and the water is firstrate Elro is well and as fat as a pig Mary if i wer at home with you i could simperthise with you in your berevement beter than i can now for i have to many things to think of hear. we air in the land of rebels but you must try and be reconsiled to all those misfortunes as well as you can and i am in hopes that ear long i shal be at home with you and i think in the corse of six monthes i shal. does what money you get keep you comfertable o i hope you do not sufer for things to keep you comfertable you will get your money from Concord within a few days i would like to have you / send me a few postage stamps if you can wright often let me know ho you have with you this sumer take good cair of your self and them litle boys you know Mary i want to see you all Cis the litle felos for me and saive one for your self you cnow my feelings beter than i can wright them so now i must close give my love to all tell bine to wright my leter is scateren wright often wont you, and may the blesings of our hevenley father be with you and those that air left in your cair for the litle one that has gon and left you is know with bright spearits above
