Camp Nelson Ky Aug the 30 1863
Dear Aunt it is with great respects that i once more rite you a few lines this morning to let you know that i am well and hope these few lines will find you and your little family well Dear Aunt i have never have riten you before sense uncle Henry died you must excuse me for i have felt so bad i could not rite and Capt Pingee has come home thear on a furlough and i knew he would come and see you and tell you all about it Aunt if i was at home i could tell you more than i can rite you i took care of him till died as well as i could aunt i am lonsome with out him for he and i always tented to geather sense we inlisted
this leter Dear Aunt i think is the last letter he ever rote and i thot you would like to keep it so i thot i would send it to you i must close now so give my love to the boys likewise to your self so
