Camp neare Kingston
Deare companion I have the privelidge once more to drop you a few more lines to let you no that I am tolerabel well hoping those few lines may soon come to hand and find you all well
I have nuthing strang to rite to you now onley we have quite times heare now but I dont no how long I Receivd that letter you sent by Capt Stewart and was glad to heare from you and to heare that you was all well I am a going to come home in a bout 2 or 3 weaks they say all over 40 years old will bee discharged when their twelve months is out and the time is not fair off you must do the best you can with the things the Capt is a going to do all he can to git hous off and he thinks the chance is good I am a driving the wagon now and expect too tell I come home we hant got no tents heare onley what we make but we all ceep dry we git beef and porke to eat and corn meal and flour we have had sum cold rain heare /

But hit is warm to day we hant took hour winter quarters yet but there is sum talk of hit but I dont no wheare we will go to tell gorge martin to go to work at that house If he dont mind I will bee thare before he gits hit up I was in the Battle all day and the bumbs and the grape shot and the bulletts fell a round me as thick as rain ever did the 14th december
But I come out safe I want to sea you all the worst I ever did in my life but I hope I will git to se you before long and git to stay with you a while A few lines to the children tell them to bee good children and mind thare mother and to do they best thay can I want to sea them the worst sort If I cold sea you I cold sea you I cold tell you more then I cold rite in a weak I hope these trubblesum times will soon be over so we can all come home and heare the canions roare no more
