Sir:
Referring to your letter of the 12th inst., addressed to Hon. H. H. Starkweather, in reference to the claim of Harriet Washburn, Navy Widow, No. 1473, I have to inform you that no action can be taken in the case till evidence of marriage, dates of birth &c of children is furnished, also medical evidence of date and cause of husband's death.
Claimant should state whether or not her husband had been previously married and left issue of such marriage surviving under the age of sixteen.
