Dear Father
I will drop you a few lines this morning which I trust will reach you I was captured the 14th at Bristoe Station Va and reached here the 17th

My health is good except bad cold which troubled me some but I am about well now

I have been treated very kindly since I have been here and get a plenty to eat. there is some of our neighbors here with me viz. Levi Wright, Isaac Freeman W. C. Moore, R. Key, E. Morgan, and Andrew Stutts. Please when convenient send word to their people and let them know that we are all well /

I was wounded in the shoulder and ear my shoulder was only bruised and a piece of skin knocked off but it is nearly well a ball passed through my left ear it is healing up very fast and has never pained me but very little there was preaching here last Sunday Religious tracts and testaments has been distributed among us since we've been here

from your
