Dear Father
I seat myself to drop you a few lines from this place I reached this place from Washington the 9th inst My health is good and has been ever since I was captured and I hope you are all well
 
I was a little surprised to find William McKinnon here he was sick and was sent off to the hospital I have not heard from him since (Disease chronic Diarhea)
 
            Levi Britt, Allen & Daniel Martin are here and also Levi Wright, W. C. & B. B. Moore these are all well. Isaac Freeman is here but he is sick and gone to the hospital I was wounded in the left ear and shoulder but it was slight and is perfectly well now
 
Write soon but not more than half sheet letter paper written on one page will pass the lines
