Dear Father
After a long delay I purpose to address you a few lines for the second time since I heard from home I have not recd but one letter from you since I have been a prisoner it gave me much satisfaction to hear from home and to know you were all well and I trust that this will find its way home and find you all well I am growing very anxious to hear from you all. My health is good except bad cold for the last two or three days I heard from home last week through a letter that Levi Britt recd. Levi Britt, D. Martin, L. Wright & W. C. Moore are all well, Allen Martin is dead he died of chronic diarhea
I am doing as well as I could expect I work at the ring trade and have been successful thus far I have more orders for rings than I can make I must close hoping to hear from home soon. address N. Deaton Co. I.
