Noah Deaton to William Deaton, 27 March 1864
March 27th 1864
Point Lookout Md (Prison Camp)
Dear Father
After a long time I again purpose to drop you a line or two to inform you that I am still enjoying tolerable good health and hope you are all well. I have looked for a letter every mail but not received but one letter since I've been a prisoner but I heard from home through 3 letters last week that was wrote in February the letters were to Levi Britt and the Moore Boy's. the Boys are all well I am getting along very well and have money a plenty to buy any thing I need my apetite for food is weak but I atribute that to the want of sufficient exercise I confine myself to ring makeing. This camp contains about 40 acres and we are at liberty to take such exercise as we wish there is a school in this camp for the benefit of all that will attend
Write soon
from your affectionate
son until Death
