Dear Father                
After a long delay I again purpose to write you a few words I received your letter of march 20th Aprl 19th I was glad to hear from you all to know all was well this leaves me in good health hopeing that you are all the same as to health. the rest of the boys are well. I suppose B. B. Moore is dead Sergt McIntosh & Britt Saunders arived here the 18th and also A. M. Fields. health is generally good here Lieut M[?] McLeod is also prisoner
 
I am still makeing finger rings which is ready sale at a fair price.
 
I still look forward and hope we will be exchanged soon                 
 
I must close
 
May God bless us all and keep us and shield us from all evil and save us at last
