My Dear Father
With much pleasure I avail myself of this opportunity to write a few words which I trust will reach you. My health is very good and and I wish to hear from you soon write as often as you can the last I have heard from home was March the 20th

Levi Britt, D. Martin, W. C. Moore, Hollingsworth, Warwick, Britt Saunders, Sergt N. McIntosh, & A. M. Fields are all in tolerable good health. I supose Levi Wright is at home and I also understand that B. B. Moore is dead

I fear William McKinnon is dead

I have nothing more of intrest to write now I still look forward to the future and hope for a better time beyond the duration of this war and trust that there will soon be an exchange fully agreed upon which will be an inexpressable joy to the prisoner now held both North and South. When you write address to
Co. I 6th Division Point Lookout Md

I remain your affectionate Son until Death
