Dear Father I received your kind favor of Aug the 28th the 17th Inst. I was much gratified to hear from home once more and learn you were all well I enjoy as good health now as I ever did in my life. I have almost lost all hopes of being exchanged this winter and should it turn out to be so I will try and tough it out as best I can I am tolerable well clad and better prepared for the coming winter than I was for last winter. I still work at rings some but my principal ocupation is engraveing designs on rings breast pins &c, at which I can play my had pretty well
L. Britt, Martin, Moore and the the rest of the boys are tolerable well.
