I embrace the present opertunity of droping you a few lines by which you may learn that I am well at present and hope when these few lines coms to hand they may find you al enjoying the same blessing of god
the company is in tolribll tolribl good health and in tolrebl good sprit at this time we have left camp mg mangum and come to golds boro and in camp / heare now we had a very plesent ride in the cars and landed here safe we are just on the age of town but we cant git to go there much we cant go but two at atime it is a very pritty litle town but we cant git any thing there with out paying twice the worth of it we git provision and soap to wash with and git wode hald to us in the cars we have a pritty tite cournil but I think that he wil bee very good wun I think he has got [?] /
I havnt any news to write at present we can git ware news aplenty here but I dont no when to believe we cant hear the same time the same way I supose the [faded] is about to take al from 18 to 35 I think it wil bee very hard apon what wil bee left but I cant bee hope I am in hops that the ware wil come to a close befor long and if we are spard to go home we will son git to go I would like to see al my friends at home very much / and bee git to by there but I dont no when I can git there I would like to go back if I could but I cant go soon cousin maray is getting along very wel
Mr T. D. patterson is wel [faded] I have not had the pleasure of speaking to a guerl since I left old More county we have six in our tent you ought to see how we can make biscets and wash we have a bisket spider and frien pan excuse my folishnes I will say no more at present write as soon as this coms to hand tel me al the news you have we dont git half anuf of it here excuse mistakes and bad spling I will close with saying my best respcts to you
