My Dear Cousin
I received your kind letter a few days ago and I was very glad to hear from you all Well cousin I have no news to relate that will interrest you we are all well at this time Brother Kin is gon home after horse he broke him down in the last raid so he had to carry his horse home and get another one
You want to know someting about Angus he volunteerd in a Cavalry Company at the Arsenl but that company was orded off two weeks ago and the last I heard from Angus he was at Weldon I have not heard from him in two weeks he was right well when I heard from him I feel uneasy about him for he is so young and there are so many temptations in the Army / but I think Angus has a good Company so when there are good boys there are not much danger going astray. Well Cousin S this is hot wether how is the crops up where you live they look verry well about here I received a letter from home last week they were all well, except Grandma She was right sick but is getting better I am in hopes she will soon get well again I was right sory to learn the Cousin H McDonald was lost in the battle of the 17th I have not heard wether he was killed or not but I am in hopes he is not killed I am in hopes this war will soon be over so we all can go home in peace.
Well Cousin you must excuse me for this time my paper is out and I am call to duty so I must stop for this time Give my love to all my friends and write soon to your Dear Cousin
