Dear cousin with pleasure
I now seat myself to write you a few lines we are all tolerably well at this time. We have all had the measels except Ma and sister Maggie it made all of us very sick except pa. he did not mind them. I received your very kind letter this morning we were very glad to hear from you all we heard that uncle Neill was very sick we were glad to hear that he was mending we were all very glad to hear from cousin Daniel pa and ma says they were glad. they have been affraid they never would hear of him any more. We were very sory to hear of uncle Martin Leach sweet little babys being dead. We have no school now cousin Anne stoped her school on account of all the scholars having the measels I do not know whether she will teach any more. Ma says tell Aunt Margaret that she has cabbage plants big enough to set out she has not set out any yet our beets and garden peas beans squashes and cucumbers look very well. Pa has planted his corn and it is coming up he is preparing his cotton groun and expects to plant his cotton this week. Write soon and tell me whose likeness you have for I want to know very bad write soon and tell me whose it is well I must close as it is getting late give all my love to Aunt Mag uncle Neill and all the rest except a portion for your self. Tell Martha to come down to see me. you must come too. yours truly
