My Dear cousin          with pleasure I take the present opportunity of writing you a few lines to inform you that I am still in the land of the living. All the rest is well except bad colds Ma and Pa is gone to see Aunt Ann Laiza they started this morning. Brother Angus Martin is well except the cold. We heard from uncle Keith last week he was well he was out on picket guard. I am going to school I am learning very fast I am studying 2 Georgraphy and Arithmetic and Reading Riting I am ciphering over at the Atlantic ocean it is very hard we have 13 girls and 11 boys we have 2 of Mr Burns girls going to school 1 name Maggie the other name Mary I and Maggie are in a class in Georgraphy are over at the British isles. Alice and Ann is going to school Mary Petty, Bella and Jose Bryan we all want to see you. Cousin Anne M^cIntyre is got a little boy she had it last Wednesday night I not seen it yet Aunt Jane is / well she has named her little boy Eugene he is big and fat red and rosy he is a good baby I have no news to tell you but if I could see you I could tell you a right smart news I can see no fun at all we are all as dry as schips well I must close you must come down to see us some time give my love to all the family except a good portion for yourself Miss S J M^cDonald
