Dear Cousin I just received your kind leter of the 18th ult it filled my hart with joy to think that you had just thought of me I rote & got no answer so I thought it usless to rite I want you all to know that it makes hapy to hear from you Margret I would like to you all very much though I dont think that I shall ever in this life though it is satifaction to hear from our people if unkle william could rais a nuff of spuds to get hear he would forget ever a poor man for I could take him to the island / on the ohio River botom Both of us could rais 2000 bush of potatos & corn enuff to doo us & cabage is all ways good sail hear comon cabage $8 [?] the ground hear will bring good cabage without manureing
 
I have bin clearking for the garden men for 3 years at $300 per year except last fall I had got about five hundard dollars ahead & thought that I could make money faster though I failed I lost about three hundard & 75 dollars in side of three months so come back to the garden Company again they taken me back without saing any thing out of the way so I am at the garden now & dont know when I shall quit it may be that when buisness gets dull in the winter that I / may bring Clarissa & come to sea you all one time more tell unkell that the land about is good for 150 bushel of corn to the acher & 2.75 irish potatos that is more then you can rais of of 10 achers their so I cant say any thing against bearing out hear you said some thing about J M Deaton he is at Grafton was about 200 hundard miles from hear I was out to sea him the other day he & family is well James has 2 children boy & girl William is the boys name annie Bell is the girls name the boy is 3 years old he has red hair so I must close on this subject I will send my wifes picture & some of my Bills that I had last fall so I dont want this bea the last leter I shall get from you for other 4 years it has bin 40 months since I have heard from you / I will ashore you that every leter that you send me will bea apreciated so that you shall hear from it as soon I can send the answer so god be with you I must bring my leter to a close by asking you to rite soon Direct as ever I Remain your true friend till death tell aunt Flory that I have not forgoten hur yet nor never shall tell all my people the same I would like to hear from Sarah & Noah tell them to rite I would like to rite till tomarow night I could talk longer though if wea could meat face to face I wish you could come to dine with me tomarow
