Dear Wife I will write a fiew lines to you Mrs herick is here so I have chance to send it with her I havent much to write but thought a fiew lines would be beter than nothing Birt Smith got back friday & brought me a letter which I was very glad to get I wrote you a letter last thursday which I suppose you have got before this time & one that I received from mother I want you to send me all you get from her for she is my mother I love her most dearly I will rite to her in a fiew days if she wants to come out here & improve our place and live with us while she lives I will do what is right with her
I have been to meeting to day we have meeting here every Sunday in the grove the captin thinks we will get our pay this week & then I am coming home
I am well and harty & hope this may find you the same
