Dear wife I will rite a fiew lines this eavening and send it with Mr Thurstin. we have drawed our months pay which we was to have in advance. the musicians get but 12 dollars a month, but thare is one consilation, we wont have any fighting to do. I will try and have my likeness taken to morrow and send it with him if I can get to town I will get / some clothing for you and the children. we have raised 36 dollars for Mrs. Herick to day and I think we will get a little more to night.
thare is some talk of our leaving here to morow but I dont believe it. thare are ten or twelve of the boys down with the measels & the Captain is coming down with them now I am glad that I have had all such diseases I dont know of eny ting more at present only get moved as soon as you can. I am well & hope this will find you the same

I have had my likeness taken & I will send it with Mr Thurston. it cost one dollar & one for mother for 50cts it is a very nice one I have bot some sheating & calico & flanel for you & Lillie & some flanel for Clarence I will send you a little money five dollars / I want you should use this if you want it I want you should pay that thrashing
I saw Mr bower & he dont want it now so I will leave it with you to pay sometime next month
