Dear Mary, as Capt. Austin has come back I thought I would write a fiew lines & send by him he got as far as memphis & some of his papers was wrong & so he had to come back. he says he may go back to morrow or monday & I will send it with him. I havent much to write this time for I wrote you a letter the 3 & one the 9 which you proberly will get by the time you get this. I wrote to you that Mr Landon was sick he is geting better. I have been taking care of him & I think he will get along now. Joseph Furgerson & William are some beter to day. there are a great many sick here now our boys that had the measels are sick, some of them have died & I think some mor of them will / die unless they have the best of care. John Graham is very sick with a fever & unless he has help he cant live long. L L Johnson died to day. I cant write much more for cap is going to the boat to night. I am well & harty. may this find you the same. I write every week & sometimes oftener Now good by from your
