well Mollie,
this is Sunday & every thing is quiet we have been here over four weeks & havent got Vixburg yet. they still expect reinforcements but they get eny for we have a large force in our rear watching every move that they may make Banks has port hudson surrounded the same as we have Vixburg, & they must fall after a while. well I dont no as I have eny more to write this time. I want you to write often & John & Josa the same. tell Henry to write my respects to all who may enquire. O Shibly
