Camp Sherman

Dear Mollie,
I thought I would write you a fiew lines to day. I am in camp & it is very dull times. the boys that were discharged have started home. I sent those things by George Wildy. I hope he will get them through, but I am afraid he will not, for they examin every one that goes home. two of our boys are going home on furlow. their furlows have not come yet but they expect them in a fiew days. as soon as the boys get back that are now at home they will give some more furlows, & there are more that want furlows than will be granted, so I dont expect one, but if I can get one I will come. we have been looking for Henry Robinson for the past two or three days & he has not come yet. the river is very low & the most of the boats that come down the river get fast on the sand bars & are 10 or 12 days coming from Cairo. I sent a letter by George Wildy & one with Landon, which I supose you have got before this time. I think he is at Johns to day, if he is I know you will have a good viset for he is a great hand for company.

well Mary we had a mail last night & I expected a letter the names were called over one after another but my name did not come. I was disapointed, for it was the second mail since I got one & I wanto hear from the children. you said you would write again in a fiew days if you have I have not got it. I hope the children are all well again for I think of them all the time & will until I hear from them. Mary I will send you a rebel paper one that was printed in Vixburg before the surender you can see that they were hard up for they had to use wall paper for printing. our boys found a lot all ready struck & the type set so they struck a lot of them. they went off like hot cakes. I paid 25 cts for it. I thought it would be a curiosity for you. I have no more to write this time.
I am well & harty & may this find you all the same
