No. 26.
Sept 20th /63.
Dear Mollie,
I wrote you a letter day before yesterday but as Jo Blakeslee is going home I thought I would write a fiew lines & send with him. it is now 4 oclock & he will start at 6 so you see I have not time to write much. I thought I would write anough to let you know that I am well & harty except my eyes they are weak & some sore, but I think they will get well again as soon as the weather gets cooler. Capt. Evans has got his leave of absence but I dont no when he intends to start home. if I knew that I would get a furlow I would not send that money. I thought I would send you 5 dollars with Blakeslee & if I cant get a furlow I will send the balance with Capt / Evans. you can pay the 15 dollars I sent you by landon you can pay on the drum & what I now send will pay for it. if I thought you was out of money I would send you more, for I think we will get pay again before long. the health of the boys is some beter than it was. Vrooman is well & harty. I have not had a letter from you since the one Robinson brought me. I dont want you should wait until the boys come back, but answer every one you get & write as much oftener as you can. they say it costs about 25 dollars to go home & back that is much cheaper than I expected I cant write eny more for it is time for dress parade, so good by From
your husband
