Dear Mollie,
We are about to leave this place to march towards Chatanuga, how far I cant say. I think we will move as fast as the railroad is finished. we will move in a day or two. the first brigade moved yesterday & I think we will move to morow. I was told we would go about 10 miles. I think we will do so until we get through. the railroad must be garded all the way through. we are expecting our pay to morow. the first brigade was paid yesterday. I will send you some money as soon as I can. I havent had but one letter from you since Landon came back & that was writen August 29, so you see I have not heard from you since he got back & this is the fourth / letter I have writen this month you cant expect me to write much this time for I havent it to write. I wrote a letter to Dow yesterday & I will write to your mother as soon as I can. the most of our boys are well. Landon is harty & so is Vrooman. Will Ferguson is not very well. we are making up a box of clothing to send home I will send my dress coat & a pair of pants & some other litle trinkets which I will leave in the pockets. the pants are some worn but they will last some time yet.

I supose by the time this reaches you, you will be over the river or perhaps in Illinois whare ever you may be, I hope this will find you all well. I am well & harty & hope I may continue to be so as long as I am in the service. no more this time from your husband, O Shibly to Mollie C Shibly
