Dear Mollie
The mail is going out in half hour but I thought I would write a fiew lines to let you know that I am well. we have had a fight with the rebels day before yesterday. we drove them beyond tuscumbia & came back yesterday & this morning they were all back here again. we drove them back about 2 miles before breakfast & then we came back after our breakfast. I expect we will be ordered again before night. they are all cavelry suposed to be about 25 hundred with 5 pieces of artilry. we lost one killed & 2 wounded they lost more than we did / we got one of their wounded some prisoners & killed 3. they are burning the railroad all they can ahead of us. we are repairing it & moving up as fast as they get it repaired. our regiment has not lost eny yet. the boys are all well as common. I saw Dow the other day he is well. he is with his regiment again I cant write much more as they are making up the mail. may this find you all well.
