Dear Mollie,
this is sunday & as I have time, I thought I would write some to day. I wrote you a letter the 29. in it you will find five dollars. I will send some more as soon as I hear from it. I have been looking for a letter for two days. I will not finish this until I hear from you. I think we will get a mail to morow. we are having very fine weather now. the birds are singing & the leaves will soon start. I hope next spring this time may find me at home geting ready for farming. I tell you Mary I am geting tierd of this kind of work. thare are a great many in the army that / never will work should they live to get out & perhaps I am one of them.

Tuesday 8th
well Mary I received your letter yesterday commenced the 26. I was glad to hear that you are well. you said you had not heard from me for three weeks. this is the third letter I have writen since to Oswego. your letters come through in six days from the time they are mailed. I am glad you went down to see Ann. you say she is some better. is it realy so, I hope it is. I am glad that Hugh has taken her to Jackson for I think they will help her if thare is eny help for her. well Mary your letter brought me sad news, that of Marias death. it seams to me as though it could not be / that one so young & in good health as she was when I last saw her should so soon be taken away, but time brings many changes. I am sory for Alfred that he should be left alone in this world with his litle girl, but we must submit, for thare is a greater power that controles all. well Mary I dont no as I have much news to write this time. the boys are generly well Vrooman has the iricipalus in one of his eyes. it is some better to day. you spoke about the good supper you had. I think I could do justice to such a meal as that but as I dont have the opertunity I hope you will enjoy it for my sake. I am glad to hear that our litle ones are enjoying them selves.

I tell you Mary our litle cubs are hard to beet, the more I look at their pictures the more I am inclined to think so. I will leave it to Mother if she dont say so I will give it up. this will do for this time. you can let Mother read my letters. I wish she would write to me. no more this time from yours as ever
my best wishes to all who may inquire. good by,
To Mollie C. Shibly
O Shibly

P.S. write often for I have plenty of time to read letters.
