No. 67.
Kinnisaw mountain
Ga,                  June 29th /64

Dear Mollie
I wrote you a letter the 23. I have not had a letter from you since the 6. it will soon be a month. this is the third I have writen to you this month. well Mary old Johnson is on the mountain yet. he is giving us a hard fight, but we will get him off of thare before many days or have him surounded. we are closing in on him every day or two & he must watch sharp or Sherman will stop his cracker line. we have drove them from their strongest works time after time. last week we charged their works & drove them. they made five charges to regain them but were repulsed every time with heavy loss. / I think they will get anough of charging after a while.

I have not seen Dow for four or five days. he was not very well. this has been one of the hardest campaigns of the war & it is not over yet.

Thursday, June 30th.
well Mary I will try & finish my letter to day. yesterday thare was so much canonading that I could not write. last night thare was very heavy musketry on our right. we have not heard the result. from the sound I think the rebs made a charge, but they were repulsed. they cannot drive us from our fortifications for they have tried it before but with out success. well Mary this is the last day of the month & we muster this afternoon. I cant say how soon we will / be paid. I dont want my pay until this campain is over. I think we will get four months pay. I will send you some money as soon as I get it for I know you stand in need of it. it will soon be a year since the surender of vixburg but I am afraid we will not get atlanta on that day. I think you had better change the directions of your letters. direct them to the 1 Division, 15 Corps & I think I will get them without delay.

I have no more to write this time. Vrooman is not very well. he has not done eny duty this spring the rest of the boys are well. my health is very good. tell the folks to write to me I write to them all when I write to you. so goodby from yours as ever
