Dear Mollie
I received 2 letters from you the 20. one was writen the 7 & the other the eleventh. I was glad to get them for I have not heard from you for some time. I dont no as I will have any chance to send this out but I will write some & send it when I can. we are after the rebels & that is about all I can tell you about it. we have marched one hundred & eighty miles since we left east point & fair prospect of going as much further. we have stoped here to rest a day or two. I wrote you a letter the 13 when we were at rome & left it with Dow. he was well & said he would send it the first mail.
I am glad Mother got the money he sent home Dow said he would let you have $50 of it & I will pay mother when I get my pay. Dow told me he would give mary 10 dollars. he thinks she stands in need of it & she will help her mother in her old days. Dow thinks a greadeal of his mother as well as my self & expects mary to help her & she will be well rewarded in the future. well Mary I cant write much this time. I am well & harty with the exception of my feet they are some sore. the boys are all well. Lieut. Landon is well. I dont like his principals for he is a McClelen man & we cant agree.
I will write as often as I can & you must not be uneasy if you do not here from me very often for some time
no more this time from yours as ever,
To Mollie C Shibly
From O Shibly
I am glad you have such pleasent dreams I hope you enjoy them & wish it was real.
