Oliver W. Shibley to Mary C. Shibley, 19 June 1865
Louisville, Ky.
June 19th /65
Dear Mollie,
I received a letter from you yesterday mailed the 16. it came through in two days. I was glad to get it for I had not heard from you in some time. you spoke of the 127 being in a row. I hope Dow was not in it & I dont believe he was, as a general rule you will find nothing but roudies in such buisness. I hope Dow is at home by this time & will write to me soon I would like to hear from him.
I havent much news to write / we were paid a fiew days ago. I would send my money home, but I think we will start for home in about 10 days. we have our muster out rolls & it is said we have 10 days to make them out. I think we will start for Clinton Iowa the last of this month as we must go thare to get our discharge & pay. I would like to get home before the 4 of July but I am afraid we will not get thare. I dont no as I have much more to write this time. I am well & harty & that is the best news I can write. the Iowa brigade was broken up at washington, we are now in the 1 brigade.
if we dont start for home in a week or ten days I will send my money home.
