Dear Mollie,              

I received a letter from you the 26 that was mailed the 20. Dow & my self wrote to you in the morning & received yours in the evening. you spoke of not writing eny more. I think you will be sadly disapointed, we will not be mustered out here. we draw five teams to the regiment to day to hall our bagage. we are to march to Lewisville Ky & thare to wait our discharge. so you must write or I will not hear from you very soon. I think we will get home in a month or two. the three years recruits in our regiment / are to be transfired to veteran regiments. tharefore I think we will go out before fall. all trupes that were mustered on or before the 1. first of Oct. 62 are to be mustered out immediately. that order dont reach us, we were not mustered until the 13, so we will not get out under this order.

 

I think thare will be another order as soon as those get home that are going now. they cant all go at once & thare must be a starting point some whare. we had it in the papers yesterday that they had commenced paying the army. if we get our pay Dow & me will send our money together, if he dont go home now & I think the most of Shermans army will march to Lewisville. 

 

            well I dont no as I have much more to write this time. I will go & see dow & perhaps he will write some. I am well at preasent & may this find you all the same.

lief that I picked at Mt. Vernon near Washingtons tomb. our whole Division had the honor to march over the sacred place. I will also send you a magnolia lief from richmond.

 

            I hav not much to write for Olivers letter covers all the ground of witch I can speak only my Company of our Regt is situated as Olivers is we were not mustered in untill 22 of Oct and under that order I cannot get out of the survis at this time unless we have new Ord^s It is hard to be situated so, but we / wait and be pascient and all things will come around in due time Tell Mother I will write to her in a few days
