Yours of the 2nd was received in due time, and with pleasure but was sorry to learn that you was uneasy in regard to Oliver he is well and safe with his Regt they were at Acworth a few days since I saw him and he had received a letter from you and answered it the same day, but since our move in Ga on this campaign all coraspondance & mail was stoped for a season & that accounts for you not receiving any from him

Olivers Regt is on duty with the Ordinance & Supply Trane of the Diviseon so you must be content and not grieve for he will take good care of himself. he is not exposed to death at evry hour as I am but I will take good / care of my head and save it if I can and will see you all once more God permiting You must write to me and give me all the news and let Mother & the famely see a part of this letter & the whole if you please because she wants to here from Oliver as well as from me. tell Mother to send me some stamps and 1 pound of tobaco She can send it by male and state on the outside what it is and it will come to me. It will come as well as a letter
