Yours of the 29 of June was received yesterday, though long as it was delayed, it was thankfully received and glad to learn that you were all tolerably well at home. My health is improving and I think I will be able for the field in a few weeks I wrote a letter to Oliver a few days since but have not receive any answer from it as yet, though I think there has not been time enough for him to receive and to answer as yet, though as soon as he has time I am satisfyed he will answer it if he has any thing to answer it with. they have been paying off some of the troops at this point but wether they will pay them at the front or not / I can not tell though I think not as long as they have any fighting to do. they are pay the troops up to the 1 of July the Government ows us six months pay but if we will get it at this time or not, I can not say, though I hope we may. You can tell Mother not to send me that tobacco because there is plenty here now. You must let Mother know you here from me and that I speak of her. And tell my sister Mary that I think if her evry day and of her good conduct that I have received some time since and hope to here some more good not evil and when I am payed she shall have some money of mine
