friend Mary as I have time I will write a few lines to you & I think that you can aford to answer it now that I have got to be a soldier Nancy & I have often wished that you would write to us but we made up our minds that you did not want to hear from us for we both wrote to you but got no answer I often think of the many good times we have had & when I look back it seems like a dream Mary I want you to tell me what your mans name is & what branch of the service he is in & where & what you call your children & how old they are in fact write / me all of the particulars I should so much like to have you write to me for you are such a good hand to write letters & I do not think that your husband will be jealous I know that my woman will not be so pleas write & I will answer it if you wish me to I do not get many letters onely from Nan I get two evry week from her but it is time for me to go to work so I will bid you good by Pleas write to an old friend wising you good luck & much happiness
