Dear Wife it is with it is with the grate deal of pleasure that I take the oportunity to right you a fiew lines to let you no that I am well at present I hope that these fiew lines may find you well & enjoying the same blessing We are expecting a battle here every hour there was a bridge burnt down here between here and lewisville last night by the rebels / there is a good many rebels slaves here now throwing up entrenchments for us now we are midling well fortified here now I want you to right to me soon I have not time to right much Nothing more at present but remains your dearly beloved husband Hugh Bay to my dear Wife and Children
