Dear Loveing Companion
it is with the gratest of pleasure that I take the present oportunity to right you a fiew lines to let you no that I am well at present and I hope that these fiew lines may find you enjoying the best of health I was on gard last night and I thought I would right you a letter this afternoon I am geting all most home sick to hear from you I have rote four or five letters and I have not / not received any answer yet I wish you would right and let me no whether you got that money and that likenes that I sent you and whether you got that picture that that is at Niblicks or not we have not left here yet and I dont no whether we will leave here this winter or not now Fred Hawk is well he is out on drill now there is a grate many of the boys in our company sick but the boys from our neighborhood is all well right and let me no whether you have / herd any thing from fred Apple since he left here there was fifteen deserted from Company E last week in one night and one from our company I dont no what is the reason that Sam dont right to me for I have rote him to letters and I have not got any yet from him I wish I could get to or three letters every week well I must quit for I am geting sleepy so no more at present but remains your / loving Companion Hugh Bay to
