Dear and Beloved Companion
it is with the gratest of pleasure that I take the present oportunity to right you a fiew lines to let you no that I am well and I hope that these fiew lines may find you all enjoying the best of health I received a letter from you today that was rote on the 28th of January and I was glad to hear from you but sorey to hear that you was not well you rote that you had ketched cold when you was not well but I was glad to hear that you was geting beter / I just rote you a letter yesterday and I have not very much to right this time but it wont take you quite so long to reed it but I want you to right often I think that we will draw our pay the first of next month and if we do I will send you the money for I am afraid that you will need it I am very uneasey for fear you will need things and cant get them tell the children that pap will fetch some thing very pretty when he comes home I would like to bee at home with you now but I cant but I hope that it wont be very long til we will all get home right and let me no whether Father got the letter that I rote to him yet and I rote samey one / I have not herd from Levi for some time I dont no whether they have left Helena yet or not but I saw Jonithen Belmon the other day and he sed that they was going to Vicksburg so it is geting time to go to roost so I must quit so nothing more at present but I remain your Dear and beloved Companion
