Dear and beloved Wife it is with the gratest of pleasure that I take the present oportunity to right you a fiew lines to let you no that I am well and I hope that these fiew lines may find you all well
Well Dear Cordeli I have not got aney letter from you for to weeks and I am very uneasy about you for fear that you are sick well Cordeli I think the time very long to hear from you but I think the time a goodeel longer to get home to see you and the little children / but Dear Wife I hope the time is not far distant when we shall bee permitted to get home safe I still feel like puting my trust in god to bring me safe home sowes that we with our sweet little children can enjoy each others love and friendship once more on earth I want you to pray for me and close of this wicked rebellion well I dont hardley no what to right for I am in such trouble about you that I cant think of aney thing well we have not got our pay yet but I think we will get it tomorow and if we do I will send you some money with / Noah Glass he is here now and I will get him to take it down to you I want you to right as soon as you get this and let me no how you are geting so nothing more at present but I remain your most dear and Beloved Companion
