Dear Beloved Wife it is with the gratest of pleasure that I enjoy the present oportunity to right you a fiew lines to let you no that I am well at present and hoping that these fiew lines may find you all enjoying the best of health well we have just eat our diners and I just finished washing my dishes and sat down to right we we had a ham bone boiled with some sour dock for greans for diner and it eat first rate well there is nothing / else going on here now that is worth riting Fred Hawk is grunting with a bad cold the wether wether is very hot and dry here now and the health of the Regiment is midling good at present well I rote a letter to wooster and I give Crid hark about taking sarah Catharine away and not sending you her likenes and about them not righting to you I have your likenes yet just as nice as it was when it was taken and I have to look at it very often through the day I get / very lonesome some times sitting here in my cooking shanty alone but I have to work it of the best way I can well I dont no what to right for there is nothing going on here now we get some news some times but we cant put aney dependence in them for we hear more lies in the papers than aney thing els well Cordeliann I guess I will close by telling you to right as soon as you get this nothing more at present but I remain your Beloved /
