Camp Hope Field Arkansas
 
Dear and Beloved wife with the greatest of pleasure and with much respect it is that I can once more enjoy the present oportunity of righting you a fiew lines in answer to your kind and much welcomed letter which I received yesterday and I was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you was all well Well Cordelia [faded] picket guard and I thought I would spend a short time in righting to you well I was over in the fort yesterday and in the four noon and in the afternoon I went to town and then came acrost / the river in the evening I like it here a heap better than what I do in the fourt we have firstrate times hear and we have plenty to eat and when ever we want aney fresh beef we just go out in the woods and shoot down a good beef. Well Cordelia I expect you will be looking for me at home before long but I dont expect that I will get to come home for to or three months yet but the time seems very long to get home to see you all once more but I will send you some more money just as soon as I can get a chance to send it for I dont think that I will get a chance to come home until after we get our pay again / Oh how I would like to be at home with you today the time seemes very long to get home to see you and them sweet little girls but I will have to wait until I can get a chance but as soon as my turn comes I am going to get a furlough or have a fuss. I hope this rebellion will not last long aney more for I am geting tierd of me it the rest of the boys are all well
 
Well Cordelia you I have not much to right at present but I will right you more the next time you must not think hard of that letter that I rote before this one but answer it as soon as you can 
 
Well Cordelia I must close my letter buy telling you that I am fat and harty and full of fun and I hope those fiew lines may find you and all the friends enjoying good health
