Dear and beloved Wife it is with the greatest of pleasure and much respect it is that I can once more enjoy the privilige of righting you a fiew lines in answer to your kind and most welcomed letter which I received yesterday I received one buy mail and A J Teeple fetched me one and I was more than pleased to hear from you and to hear from that you are all well well you wanted to no whether / I had received them post stamps I received them all right and I have a very good suply of stamps on hand now well Cordelia I must tell you where I am and what I am doing today I am acting as corporal of one of our pick squads about one mild west of the mississippi right acrost from memphis in Arkansas and we have first rate times here last monday morning there was 40 of our our Companey and about 40 of Companey A started with a / locomotive out after another locomotive that was laying out on the railroad and it took us three days to get it in here but we did not get to see a guerilley but there is one companey of them sneaking peeps out about 40 miles from here and we would like to get hold of them if we could but they keep themselves very dark
A J Teeple come back last sunday the health here at present is as good as usual Fred is not very well at present
Well I have not much to right at present but I shall close buy telling you that I am well and hart and full of fun and I hope those fiew lines may find you all enjoying the best of health
