Dear Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and much respect it is that I can once more enjoy the present oportunity of righting you a fiew lines in answer to your kind and much welcomed letter which I received today I was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you was well But you cant imagin the trouble that I was in when I learned in your letter that you had such a hard way of living within the last three weekes I have sent you 15 dollars in / letters in the first letter I sent a dollar and fifty cents and in the next one I sent you three dollars and then in a fiew days after that I put ten dollars and fifty cents in another letter and sent it to you I dont no whether it will go through or not And I have twenty dollars more redy to send just as soon as I can get a chance to send it I think that Lieutenant Blood will start home in a fiew days to get recruits for the regiment and if / he does I will send you twenty dollars with him And just as soon if the lieutenant dont get to go home I think Samuel Garver will get to come home and I will send it with him Oh Cordelia I wish that I was at home this winter with you I feel very bad about you But Cordelia I dont want you to put them little girls out I think if that money gets through and that I have sent and I get a chance to send the other twenty dollars you will have enough / to do you until I can send you some more I think that we will draw our money again in about to months Well Cordelia I must bring my letter to a close buy telling you that I am well with the exception of the diare but I am on picket every other day and I hope when those fiew lines comes to hand they will find you in the enjoyment of good health so no more at present but I remain your affectionate Husband Hugh Bay to Cordelia A Bay and sweet little girls     right soon
