It is with the gratest of pleasure that I take the oportunity to right you a fiew lines to let you no that I well I received your letter that you sent with Fred today and was glad to hear from you but was sory to hear that there was such lies going there / and was very sory to hear that your flour was all stold but I dont think that I can get home without I can get a furlough after while Fred Hawk got here today and I rote you a letter the same day that I got here and I sent one by S Snyder and I sent Sam one yesterday / We have board shanties for our winter quarters but we have to sleep on I want you to keep them ear bobs and brest pin for we cant tell whether we will ever see each other or not and I am going to send you a nicer present than that after while / let people talk just as much as they pleas and never mind what they say and it will all be right after while if we never meet here I hope we will meet in heaven remember me your most affectionate and beloved husband
